Who are we ?

We are an amateur music society, established in 1947. We aim to provide an opportunity for people in and around the Tandridge district to sing in a choir under professional direction, and for audiences to enjoy good music locally at reasonable cost.

Our repertoire encompasses classical and romantic composers, as well as 20th Century names such as Elgar, and Fauré.  Poulenc, Tavener, Britten and Rutter have featured in recent concerts. But we spice our programme with lighter music too!

Our Director of Music is Michael Burbidge.  Michael is well known as a versatile, experienced and highly professional musician. Besides training choirs, he is in demand as Musical Director of stage performances, teacher and accompanist. He ensures a balanced programme that offers the reassurance of the familiar together with the excitement and anticipation of the new. We are members of Tandridge Leisure Arts whose job is to develop arts in the area. We are also affiliated to Making Music, funded by the Arts Council, which both represents and supports amateur performing groups throughout the country.
